Why licensing matters
In many states, installing or repairing well pumping equipment legally requires a state-issued pump installer license — with exams, apprenticeship under a licensed sponsor, and periodic renewal. The states publish lists of active licensees, but often in formats nobody can practically use (Maryland's is a 31-page PDF). We parse those official rosters and re-check them against the source on every update.
